Yeah, Gibbys get very large. I can't get one right now, but someday when I get that 180 gal aquarium I've been eyeing up. Right now I have 9 zebras. I really don't see them that much because I keep the aquarium covered up, hoping that they will breed.

I had a Sailfin for over 6 years, he was little over 2 inches when I got him and he's now a little over 18 inches. and does he poop alot! I ain't kidding! I say the smaller the better, an algae eater maybe

I don't know the "average", but I do know that plecos live for a very long time.
