I know snake heads are illegal in many US states but i was wondering whether they were illegal in NY and if so, what states are they not illegal in.

fishcatch22 said:yeah, most invasive aquarium fish I ever heard of...
LunchBox said:well the problem wasn't reall aquarists. it was food fish companies importing them, selling them to people live, and those peopel not wanting to eat them so they set them loose... or least that's how the story goes for one of the cases in maryland.
the short version is there aren't many aquarists who are getting them and setting them loose.. it's mostly the fishmongers![]()
i agree. i kind of think carp (koi) are worse. i've seen videos where the water is literally alive with them. you can't even eat them because they all these tiny little bones between the ribs. they have a nasty habit of rooting around in the substrate and destroying plants, mucking up the water so nothing else can live, and can withstand nearly zero oxygen so are hard to kill.tai95 said:Then I guess you've never heard of pacus, goldfish, plecos, tilapia, ect, ect, ect.
