Only opposed to them because I didn't want to be feeding two different foods. They're adorable little guys, and I enjoyed watching them suck on everything at Petsmart. Hehehe! I don't have algae, but I suppose feeding algae wafers wouldn't be too bad.
I just hate worrying that one fish eats all the other fish's food, so that's why I didn't like the idea of feeding two different foods. But a betta wouldn't be too gung-ho for algae wafers would it?
I certainly wouldn't mind having one or two if I was sure they were able to eat without interference.
I cracked up seeing them sucking on everything in Petsmart's tank. There were a bunch sucking gravel, at least one sucking the wall, and one fervently attached to a plastic plant.
They're funny little dudes!
