Im about to give up

What is it that makes me want to spend over 50 bucks on an 89 cent danio to try and help him? and is there any effective way to painlessly put a fish out of its misery? his gill disease has gotton way too bad.

put him in a zip lock bag with water in it and then put him in the freezer for a while and flussssssssssssssssssssssssssssssh.

a few drops of clove oil (from a health or natural foods shop) in a bowl of water will painlessly do the trick.

The quickest and best way for a fish of that size (~2") would be to wrap it in a wet paper towel, lay it on a hard surface (wood is good), and give it one solid smash with a large hammer or mallet. You want to instantly pulverize it. Afterwards, throw it in the garbage, don't flush it down the drain/toilet.
