well hello fellow fish fools! I've missed you so much!
I've been out of the country for a few months and man have i missed my tanks and you!
I left everything in my mothers charge moved all my tanks to her house 3 1/2 weeks before i left so i could be sure everything settled back into balance before i left and give her the appropriate training.
and. . .
while i was gone she hurt her knee badly enough to require surgery. She's recovering well but my fish tanks are in seriously ruff shape.
I actually cried when i first saw them. I've lost 3 fish and my plants are overgown and there are algaes i've never had before.
I'm not mad because she did make sure the water got changed- sort of while she was layed up but i'm quite sure her instructions were less than perfect. her boyfriend who had to do water changes for her said after the surgery she told him every 2 weeks or so would be sufficient. . . i do a 50-60 % change every 5-7 days- i'm sure it was the drugs but. . .Kamakazi and Tabi-chan, and Senoirita Lola Verdita are all dead b/c of this buisness.
I got back yesterday. did a 15-20 % change right away. I'll be building up the change size every day until i have the tanks rehabed enough to overhaul the plants and substrate situation and then in the next month and a half or so i'll be bringing them back home.

but i really am glad to be back- i'm thinking i'll do a picture diary so you guys can see my progress it'll be fun.
