heres the story.....I have a 75 gallon with 2 retic pups and 1 silver arrowana. they will be going inside my 220 coming in december. I though my addiction reached its peak when i decided to get the 220...WRONG.....I saw the perfect spot in my aprtment for a 55 gallon. First thing you should know is that my 75 will become home to 2 green terrors when I get the 220, my idea for the 55 was to get convicts and let them breed like hell but now i cant decide. SO.. my question is what other species of fish can i house in a 55 that I can breed??

acaras and severums.

Firemouths. Angels if you do things right. Kribs. Apistogramma. And of course livebearers.

With angels..the trick is finding an pair. they are difficult to sex.

same can be said for discus..with these you need to get a bunch of young fish and let them pair off.

then you need to try and determine what to do with the odd fish out..tho, you can house 2 pair of angels in a 55..but they may fight over territory.

many other cichlids will form pairs. but you need to find smaller ones that won't bust the tank.(grow too big)

how about an amizon river based tank with a large school of 10-15 tetras(or two medium sized schools of 6-8) of tetras, a pair of angels (you have to buy a bunch of juveniles, then remove the agressive ones, and see if any pair off, then keep those) and then a clown, rubber, or bushynose pleco. then a school of cories
