I'm going to the LFS

me thinks theres a Bala in there with the Cichlids
 
there are lots of fish in there that shouldn't be with africans..but it's am LFS..they won't be there long

also, it depends on what cichlids you want, sa/ca cichlids do well in a ph of 6.0-7.0(regular), while africans do well in a ph of 8.5-9.0. both can adjust though

test your tap water :)
 
Nice set ups! Very common for LFS to mix fish for growout or until they have time to move things around.

nice pics Ogre...I wouldn't worry about their judgment necessarily just because of the mix - its not like they're proposing to house those fish together permanently.
 
I hate display tanks. my LFS has a sting ray in a 180 that isn't for sale either. nice job finding the gold gouramis!
