i bought some ghost shrimp today ( 3 of em) and my darn fish ate them in a matter of minutes. how stupid can i be!? that darn fish eats everyting...

there was a baby snail that accidently got mixed in with the shrimps when i bought them.. and i put it in the tank for the meantime.. and the stupid thing nabbed it and put it in his mouth. he was like a dog playing fetch with a ball. he kept spitting it back out then catching it up again. what a stupid fish.. what a stupid me. geeeze
 
What kind of fish was the culprit?
Virtually ANY fish (large enough to eat a food flake) will hurass and probably eat any shrimp u may add.
Some fish will leave adult shrimp alone, but forget raising the young, and with the short lifespans... :(
 
it was a larger barb. prolly like 2 inches long. i forget what species but the thing is so vicous.. my chichlids are afraid of the thing.. its rediculous.. he already killed his signifigant other. hes just a neucense.--sp?
 
Was it one of these (Tiger Barb)? :devil:

They r very aggressive and would really enjoy the snack!

nope bigger. like a barb.. its starts with a p. its larger. bout 2 inches.. looks a bit like a hexagon barb..
