So I've had my Betta Hermes for a while (I think May) and he's got what I believe to be fin rot as his fins are now jagged when he use to be a Moon...He is also less active than he was before. I tested my Nitrate and Nitrite and Nitrate is 10ppm and Nitrite 0 I'll test for the others later today.
I do 50% WC once a week and I feed him twice a day with Nutrafin Max(same as Betta max) He has a mini-Hydor and a Tetra i3 filter

So your ammonia is 0 then? I haven't heard great things about those heaters, they aren't very stable. What size tank is this? Temp fluctuations can most definitely cause some fin rot in bettas

The temp stays within 78-80*F but this is how it goes in all my tanks they vary from +/- 2*F it is a 2.5gal All Glass he's just sitting on the bottom. I'll take a ammonia test to see what it's at but it should be Zero

What kind of filtration do you have? You should bump up your water changes to every other day to help his fins regenerate...

Oops - I saw the Tetra i3 filter! But I would definitely keep the water as clean as possible...

Sure can do I did a water test and I honestly don't know how this is possible but the pH is over 9:22_yikes::jaw-dropping: So I'm going to get RO water at my LFS and buffer and there was no Ammonia

Wow. I would seriously question the validity of that test. Unless your pH was already high, it's pretty unusual for it to rise that quickly. What's your water source? If it's municipal, is it possible that they've changed the way it's processed?

Hydor Theo Heaters are great! They are very stable and are listed as one of the best to have on numerous websites.

Mine's never failed me and always keeps the water at the right temperature.

I also am starting to question its validity so I'm going to do another test at a different LFS....And also test my three other tanks to see if all of them test high pH

Okay the water was at 8.3pH still high but not nearly as horrifying as the first test...He's Much more active now and I've been doing 50% WC a day until his fins grow back

You could always start using Almond leaves/almond leaf extract to bring down the PH to more desireable levels.
