hi all i was at work today and was helping clear out some stuff from our lab,,i came across something like a diffuser or something like a diffuser? i thought it woulb be a good co2 diffuser..any imformation of what it is please...cheers ,,dunk

That appears to be a Freidrich condenser of some sort (I think).
The "bowl" portion on top is designed to hold dry ice and cool water or PEG is supposed to be pumped through the coils while gas is added to the chamber via the Y fitting.
If you can sink it, you could pump CO2 into the lower fitting and use it as a ladder but It looks like the interior would not get any circulation if filled with water, so I would not advise trying it.

duncan is right. its a condenser used at the end of a distillery setup. it would be good if you are putting this behind your tank, and then you could put a aquarium heater in it and that would heat your water without your heater being inside.
