First take dimensions and calculate the volume. Don't worry... the folks here will help you set it up.
Getting the right fish is crucial, but if you start out right it isn't hard at all.

I've just never used a tank like this before and wanna go about it right. I also want to make it freshwater not salt.. I also have no idea how to set up the filter in the back of it!

Yes! That looks like a nice size beginner tank. You'll have lots fish options but look at the tank cycling sticky at the top of the newbie forum. That's a very important first step before you get fish.

Also tell us what equipment you have. Lights? Filter? It looks like you have a biggish tank & a large sump? We'll help you!

It's a PowerHead 802. I've also got a Reef Octopus that I'm wanting to reuse as an added filter on the back along with the built in setup on the back using the pump from the other skimmer. Shouldn't be too complicated lol Don't know too much about the lights. I know they're bright as hell. And when on, there's blue and white lights.. read something about 10,000 K.

I'll also add that this isn't my first aquarium, just my first acrylic all in one kind of tank. I figured you all would have more knowledge about it than I would though lol

Everything looks to be built into the back of the tank. So I shouldn't have to have an external tank but I still want to repurpose the reef octopus or sell it. Not sure

If you're not planning on a reef tank I would sell it. Freshwater tanks are much simpler, you don't need a protein skimmer and actinic bulb (the blue one... you need to replace that one if you're keeping it). Also a complete reef set up like you have is worth more as a f/w set up.
