In tank macro algae

I have noticed that Caulerpa serrulata is actually one of, if not the least, likely to sporulate unexpectedly. I recommend that species above C. prolifera, C. taxifolia, and the rest.

For a fine grained sandbed, I would suggest the Halophila seagrass (aka paddleweed).

I have C. prolifera and halimeda in my DT and chaeto in my fuge. I also had C. mexicana in the DT as well for a while. I like the look it adds.

Have you had luck with it growing in lesser lighting (i.e. things other than metal halide and spotlights)? I couldn't seem to grow it under the compacts and such I used. That may have had something to do with the condition upon arrival (rhizome was heavily damaged), but I have no way of finding out if that was the case for sure.

I love macro tanks, but when they decide to go sexual, that love turns to frustration pretty quickly.
