In your opinion, whats the most beautiful freshwater fish?

Oooo... I looked up pictures of all the previous, and they are lovely! Right now I'm really liking the Dario Dario, but the Altum Angelfish is also a beauty! I wish I could keep discus, if I'd planned better I probably could have!
Dumbo mustard tail betta fishor discus. Discus are my ultimate goal
I do have to agree with those that posted Pearl Gouramis, and Altum Angels - two of the most beautiful, for sure.
But as far as THE most beautiful, the most elegant, and the best personality, I have to come back to Discus!
And for TabisFish:
If discus are your ultimate goal - why not make it sooner than later!
And to ppetropulo:
If you had planned to keep discus, why don't you revive your plan, and do it!
To both of you - if you have such an inkling, go for it - and I would be more than happy to get you through the hoops - helping you along step by step - it's easy - not a problem, and you would be crazy about it - try it !

Most beautiful? Probably discus...boesemani rainbowfish, allen's rainbowfish and pineapple swordtails are really pretty too....I love color, lol.
My favorite fish though is still fancy goldfish. Not as colorful, but beautiful in their own way, and say what you want....I think goldfish have the best personality!!!

Bettas buy far. Such elegance. Such poise. Many awesome colors. Close second is a golden gourami or a powder blue dwarf gourami

Oh Paul! I would revive my plan, but the whole reason I upgraded my tank, was that the smaller one was getting over crowded! I will keep your offer in mind though, trust me. As soon as I can get a new tank big enough, I'll make sure to make contact with you! For now though, I'll just have to dream
