Im planning a 270 gallon indoor pond for a pair of motoro stingrays and possibly an arrowana or two later down the road. however i would love some advice on what rock i should use for the bottom of it as well as the plants for the decoration around it. the rocks need to be perfectly smooth to keep the rays from injury and nothing was coming to mind at the time. so any indoor pond tips and decorating advice would be much appreciated.

No decor...wouldn't be good for the little guys.

Definately a fine sand bottom.

agreed sand is superior. however i need a good way of cleaning it?
im also planning on planting around it so any ideas on designs for that would be sweet!

you could stir the sand so the silt comes to the top of the sand and then siphon the muck off.
If you have strong enough circulation the rays stirring up the sand might be enough for the muck to just get sucked into the filter.

If your pond is going to be against a wall/walls you could look into putting in a vertical garden/living wall:grinyes: for planting.
