I was checking under some of the floating plants today and I noticed what looks like a clear cacoon dangling from the roots. Upon further inspection, I found a bunch! Do any of you know off the top of your head what kind of insect this might be?

Can you post a picture? There are a number of possibilities, from fish to amphibians to insects.

hmm... I dont think I can post a pic, Im not sure my camera could pick it up. Its definately not fish or amphibian, because only my two rams are in there and the top is too high for an amphibian to get in (I think.) Its about a quarter of an inch long, an eighth of an inch wide, seems to have white "bands" and is completely transparent.

Lol, I know thats not a lot of good information. Ill try and get a pic tomorrow. :D

now Im kinda concerned. I just went outside to check things out with my flashlight and I saw this snail of mine completely covered in tiny, white worms. Just the sight of it was crazy nasty. I couldnt see any worms on the fish though...

Tell me Im missing something and this is totally normal :(

Your missing something and this is totally normal. :)

Can you describe it a bit better. It kind of sounds like a leech (erpobdella).

They feed on invertebrates, frogs, and fish.

it just looked like a whole heck of a lot of little white worms probably an eighth of an inch long. The snail was completely covered in em, it looked kind of like a hairy snail...
