i just got a african lace cat it's about 2.5 inches long and i was wondering if ne one know's wut the eat and wut there habbit's are if they are nocturnal or daytime fish i know they eat bloodworm's but is there ne thing else???
Lace cats are in the synodontis family. They are primarily noctunral, with occassionaly forays out during the day. Feeding just before lights out will help ensure the fish gets enough to eat. Not sure what their size estimates could be--probably 3-5 inches, I think. For feeding them, offer a variety of meaty and veggie matter--look into a quality sinking wafer, such as the bio-wafer line.
I feed mine shrimp pellets, nutrafin max freeze dried tablets (they have krill, tubifex worms, bloodworms, etc), nutrafin max sinking complete food tablets (they have squid, and lots of other things), freeze dried brine shrimp, and he or she also eats any flakes that go in its cave. Ive tried feeding algae wafers but it doesnt seem to like them. It is about 5 - 6 inches long.
Thanx for all the help. since i posted i have stayed up late since it onley seeem's to come out at night when most the light's are off and i have seen it eat frozen blood worm's and it actually ate alot of them well from wut my pike cichlid and my jd's let get to the bottom it seem's to be doing fine now ill try some of the other food's u have mentioned i think i already have most of them in the food droor.
