I have 30 gallon aquariam with 20 pouds of live rock and 17 pounds of argonite sand with 5 pounds of live sand to seed it in it and i am thinking about getting a scooter blenny but dont know to much info about them and need some help with my decision o ya what would be some good tank mates

thank you

How old is the tank? Scooters are in the same family as dragonette's, and often refuse prepared foods, relying on pods for their food. I wouldn't put one in a new tank without seeing it take prepared foods several days in a row--and even then, would be hesitant. Letting the tank mature a month or 2 after it's done cycing will improve the survival odd significantly. For tankmates--nothing that also hunts pods, and peaceful fish. In a small tank, I'd go with one of the smaller dwarf angels, and inverts.

For a new setup, angels probably aren't a great choice. They need stable conditions, and new tanks seldom are. Can't really comment on the pseudochromis--never had them.

thanks for the input

so what type of fish should i get first, i am going to try to center the aquariam around the scooter blenny but if i cant get the little guy for a few months i might just keep some inverts in there or a some type of small fish until the aquariam is ready for him

Inverts and some chalk basslets would look nice. The basslets stay small, and occupy a different level of the tank than the scooter, so would be a nice complement.

thanks for the help oriongirl you have been a huge help ( not being sarcastic)

i was thinking of doing something like a biotope indo-pacific reef:)
and if i am correct arent the chalk basses from around florida
what kind of shrimp should i get

Hmmm. Well, there are many basslets around--might be one from the region you're looking for. I'm not much good with bio-topes--sorry!
