Initial cost of your 100+ tank?

I tend to agree with lousybreed. Just take your tank size and add a 0 and $ and that's how much it's going to cost before fish and "pretties". (e.g. 10gallon tank = $100).

My 180 planted tank:
$500 tank
$500 stand
$500 compact flouescent lights
200 lb gravel
eheim filter
2-300 watt heaters
glass scraper, nets fertilizer, thermometer, fish, plants, rocks, background, etc, etc, etc...

Yep, that'd be more than two grand!!

I recently bought a 140g setup for $800 AUD which is about 630 US.

Tank size - 48 * 24 * 28, Including cabinet.
2 x 300W Heaters
2 x 2000 ltr/hr Canister Filters
4ft Fluro Light w/tubes.
