Insanely cheap?

I just read this on Aqua Botanic's WEB site

HEMIANTHUS CALLITRICHOIDES
This plant has been ridiculously expensive for the past year selling for 8 to 20 dollars per inch! Finally it is now available from an American grower and is now being offered from AB for the special price of $2.90 per POT. This is the ultimate carpet plant that hugs the ground and spreads easily under moderate to bright light and with C02. This is the plant used by award winning aquascapers, now easily accessible and affordable from Aqua Botanic. Sold potted and grown hydroponically, snail and algae free.

I paid ten dollars for a tiny two inch peice from some guy on aquabid a few months ago, and it died on me a week later. For this price I might try it again! Whats the secret to growing this plant?

Weed, is all I can say to it. It grows like hell in my fishtank. It grows about 15cm in hight in only two weks, stays green down till the roots.
I love this plant, the light green colour gives a lovely touch to the tank.

On top of it's beauty it's useful, can be used as foreground, and in the middle.
I have quite high temp, with 26 to 29, CO2, and a mix of different fertilizers.

Don't think that's HC, which I've never seen grow more than a couple of inches in height. Perhaps you're talking about HC's bigger cousin Hemianthus micranthemoides?
 
Yeah, I agree, you are not talking about HC. HC is the shortest aquatic plant known, barely above the substrate.

Micranthemoides is a related plant, and like he said sounds like what you are talking about. Here is a picture:

Thanks Robert. I had assumed what I had in the past was HC. But from what you have posted I believe it was actually HM.

My experience with micranthemoides: took a while to get established (3wpg and CO2), but then it exploded. It is fairly high maintenance. When you give it a haircut, it takes forever to get rid of the pieces. It kept getting tangled in my Lilaeopsis so I ended up getting rid of it. But I think it is a great plant for the mid-ground area.
