well ive been thinking about trying to insta-cycle my 135 gallon tank. i currently have about 100lbs of live sand. and about 80lbs of live rock. my question is how much more live rock do you think it would take to do it. i figure i will add anohter 20 lbs anyway. but will that be enough wiht the live sand?

This may be a different thing but I cycled my tank in about 3 or 4 days by getting ahold of a used emperor 400 bio wheel power filter with the wheels already scuzzed up nice with bio junk, and I dropped 6 damsels in on top of that. In 4 days the readings were steady zeros for my 55 gallon. Been zeros ever since. I've read you need 1 emperor for every 3 feet of tank...I assume length.

I kept the damsels (2 chromis blues, 2 -4 striped, 2 yellow tails) and dropped a neon Dottyback in and everything has been great. By the way the Neon dottyback is truly an outstanding fish verry beautiful.:D
