internal parasite or not?

This is my first time doing cichlids, and I was reading posts and people said whiteish stringy feces might be a sign of internal parasite. I noticed a quarter inch or so whiteish/gray piece of feces on my Kenyi today. On the other fish I've kept it's always been browner/greener.

The fish is still extremely active with a healthy appetite. Am I just being paranoid or not? I don't want to waste money/hurt the fish with unneeded medicine and I don't see any other signs other than that.
The Kenyi is about an inch and has been eating petite cichlid pellets/algea discs.

Help would be appreciated

faeces colour is also affected by what the fish has been eating, if its just the one time you have notied it and he still seems to be behaving and eating fine dont worry. if you notice its always looking like that then react, normally its really quite long (god Im eating lunch as I write this!) I had a female krib that had a permanent 1" string hanging from her.
If it is a parasite or bacterial infection it will typically start to look thin and go off food, but dont worry its easy enought to treat.
