:help:Hello, I am a Grandmother who somehow inherited a Gecko, Bearded Dragon and a 12 gallon Saltwater Nano Cube!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep, it is amazing what Grandparents will do for the grands :)

Anyway, they moved and are coming back for the rest of their things they have in storage and the animals. YEA!!!!

My question is: I have noticed a purplish color creaping into the nano and the filter is suddenly doing weird things. The first chamber on the right seems to be ok, the second chamber seems ok but the third chamber on the left is not filling fast enough and therefore there is gargantuan amounts of bubbles going thru the nano AWK!!!!!! There seems to be a lot of debris so I guess I need to probably change the water. I have been reading blogs and it seems that maybe I need to change the sponge in the left chamber as maybe I have an algae bloom. What else do I do to fix this. If Nemo, the children's clown fish dies I am a dead Grandma :(

I did have sea lettuce in the nano but it seems to have tripled itself so I weeded it out to a low roar. I have a red star fix, a damsil, a crab in a shell, 3-4 snails, live rock and live sand and of course Nemo the clown fish.

So help me please as this is all new to me. I am desperate and ignorant about saltwater aquariums. Thank you very much :help:bobncat5@hotmail.com

I Don't do saltwater
But you need help Do not replace anything but rinse in new salt water mix hope the kids left a box of sea salt

Yes big bag of salt. How do I rinse in salt water mix? When I got the tank, I had to empty down to 6 inches of water to move it. I bought a thing to show if I put enough salt in and gently added water. Tank was fine but ignorant about daily/weekly care and neglected rinsing sponges and stuff.

Use the same thing that told you how much salt to water then in a clean jar or tub rinse the filters till clean then replace and top up tank with clean salt water

Welcome to AC!
