This guy I got for free 3 days ago because he was on his side in his cup gasping for air and was a dull almost gray color. The lady said he and 3 others that were as bad off as him weren't for sale because they were ready to kick the bucket. I talked her into letting me take one home and try to nurse him back. She proceeded to tell me that she has " cared for many bettas over the years that she has worked there" and thought it was a waste of time, that she knew he wasn't going to make it. Eventually after pleading, she let me take one home.
In 3 days he has colored up some, not swimming on his side, and has eaten a little tiny bit...Since he is starting to look like he will be a peach color, I named him Jamba. His fins are split, and I'm hoping that will heal up nicely with time. On to the pictures:
