G'day all, Just a quick note to everyone as I'm new to this forum and thought I should Introduce myself. My name is Shannon, I'm married with 1 son ( 2 weeks old ). I live in Queensland Australia ( tropic Australia ). My interests are reptiles and fish. I mainly keep Americn cichlids ( 4 tanks of ) but also have 1 tank with Africans, another with breeding bristlenose colony and a corydora tank. Been keping fish most of my life but only got serious in the last 3 years. Open to any questions and hope all of you are too.

Here in SE PA, USA, we are checking our heaters and getting ready for the sub freezing temperatures that will arrive in a few months. You don't have to worry about that, but perhaps your temperature problems are at the other end of the scale.
Do you keep aquarium plants?
As an aside, I want to comment that the next five to ten years with your new son might be the most rewarding of your life. I hope you can take advantage of that.

Yer the water temp gose through the roof over summer ( about 3 months away ). I have to take all tank lids off and blow a fan across the water and place frozen coke bottles in the tank. the temp in the tanks last year got to around 36 deg celcius ( 96.8 deg farenheight ).
I run a cold water planted tank wich I keep my corydoras in. It only has basic plants, nothing flash.
