iodine - molting

Can you use Med grade iodine? I would think it would be the same as let's say Kent without 99.9% water (or what ever % it would be)

I have two fire shrimp and two peppermint shrimp. The fire shrimp are always out front and the peppermint shrimp are rarely seen. My fire shrimp are awesome and not afraid of anything. They will ride on my hand if I stick it in the tank.

They also have an uncanny way of finding "any" scrap of food that gets past the fish. They are usually the first thing someone comments on when they see my tank.

I would definitely get two!

i got Fire Shrimp and they are doing great. had them for about 2 weeks. they both molted when I did my last water change. i didn't have to add any addition iodine.

Pics?

I love my cleaners. They're always so active, and when there were fish in the tank, I'd occasionally see them flying by on a fishback.

Now, with no fish in the tank, they're like the kings of the castle. But everytime I stick my hand in the tank they both come from the entire other side to clean my fingertips.

Plus, it's cool when they 'swim' by with all those little feet in their butts. ;)

Congrats on your fire shimp! They are directly related to the cleaner shrimp and you may even catch them trying to clean your fish. You're so fortunate. I have 3 fire shrimp and I rarely see them at all. I love the coloring though. I also agree that it is not necessary to add iodine. The salt you use most likely has iodine in it anyway.

yeah they come running out and act frantic when its feeding time. Little pyschos. its everybody's favorite part of my tank. lol.

my fire shrimp molted again. thats twice in a two week span? A day after water changes... is that normal?

Fire Shrimp pics!

finally i got some decent pics of the fire shrimp. they are doing great. super aggressive eaters though, its really funny to watch them get all excited.
