Are these sharks (catfish really) predatory? Smaller members of my tank like plattys and recently a betta disappeared. No trace of them. As if they were never there. I have 3 angels, a pair of goldfish and 2 pairs of iridescent sharks (7"). During the day, they dont seem to bother anybody else but the next morning, one less fish in the tank. I am suspecting them because they are the biggest fish in the tank.

I know... Iridescent sharks not good for beginners... I read that part too late!

Iridescent Sharks arent the aggressive type but natural instincts tell them that "Small fish that fit in my mouth, wind up in my mouth".

I returned them to the shop. When I got them 6 weeks ago they were about 3" long. They have more than doubled in size since. I returned them to the same shop I took them from and the shop owner doesnt want to beleive that these are the same sharks he sold me. I got a good deal for them. I exchanged them for a bag full of small schooling fish. They were in great shape and looked really nice but I couldnt keep them in this tank. I've had sharkes before but they had never grown up so fast. I was planning a much bigger tank for big fish but not so soon. That will probably be next year.
