Can Pure Iron Ornaments Be Used Safely?
The 'Junk' tank got me to thinking. What would be the side effects of actually adding pure iron decorations to an aquarium? I know the plants can use the iron so just what kind of good and bad effects would rusting iron cause?
EDIT: After much seaching this is the only info I have been able to find. I am still not sure what affect pure iron would have.
"Galvanized metals, copper objects, or steel can cause heavy metal poisoning, especially in areas where the pH is on the acid side of neutral, & the water is soft."
