hey i just got one of these lil dudes for my 30 gallon freshie set up, and i can already tell he's gonna get big.
anyone got the time to share some helpful information on keeping this lil guy happy?

hey Bob....your little guy won't be little for long...lol
Our big shark is about 34" and our little one about 1/2 that....
They seem to be happier when they can school, and we've found that the bigger they get, the more settled they get...less likely to bash and crash around. Our guys eat Hikari pellets, love to steal the algae wafers from the plecos, and their favorite treat is Milk Bones! I was never a big fan of ID sharks, until we got our first one....they are very entertaining, even if they can be a bit dopey at times.
Enjoy!!

I never say this to people. But, do yourself a favor and take it back, now, while you still can. They are a very nervous schooling fish. When startled they are prone to bounce off the sides & top of the tank, think flood and/or constantly bruised nose. I'm assuming of course that you can't or won't want to afford a multi thousand gallon tank to keep your school in. Seriously, if it survives, they get huge, and even if you can find someone to take it when it outgrows your tank, It'll be some idiot that thinks size = aggression so it will end a miserable life as a feeder fish. Pet store that sell these fish should be fined.

man.
where can i get good deals on huge tanks? any kits or build it yourself supplies out there?

what can i do to keep him happy until he's huge? i really bought him cause he looked sick and pale. He's grown a little bit and regained a nice dark grey color, and has a really bright metallic blue stripe down his sides. ( i figure this is an adolecent color pattern)

i wouldnt want to take him back to the s***hole i found him in, any further suggestions?

i feel real bad now, i was just tryin to help the lil homie out.

as fishpoor said you would need a multi thousand gallon tank to put him in his more natural envirement, but lets face it, almost .00001% keep them in anything bigger then a 500 gallon, First of all how much space do you have and how much do you want to spend, can your floor support the weight of possibly a 180, 210, 300 or 600 gallon tank?
