irregular swiiming. Stress??

my fish alot of times will swim up and down against the glass on the side of the aquarium and they do alot and for several minutes and they do not do this when i bought them at the dealer and i also have mollies and will they do fine if i don't at salt????

My fish, mainly the livebearers (platys and swordtails) go up and down the sides of the tank all the time. They all do it and have done so since I got them long ago. I'm not sure why they do it, but I wouldn't worry about it.

They will do fine without salt.

Do test your water, though, swimming up and down the glass in many fish is an indication that the water quality is bad. Sometimes your first clue that filter is plugged or not working.

Swimming up and down can be a sign of stress, but as said it depends on the fish. For instance if my pictus cats do this there is definately something wrong. IF my guppies do it it's normal.

what # is you ph?? The ph might be fine there might be something else wrong with your tank.
