I already gave him a step by step tutorial on water changes.... I guess he'll never learn. The scary part is that he is planning on upgrading to a saltwater reef tank.... Ohhh godddd... I already know that it is gonna be a disaster.. He is planning on keeping a mandarin dargonet!!!!!!!!!!ahhhhhhhhh!!!! Oh and chucke, I am suprised that the clowns and the hippo tang are actually alive without a heater.

It is so obvious that this guy did not do any research on how to care for his fish or the tank and reading this has really made me sad. Your fish are your pets not just something to look at like a painting. Just like a dog or cat you have to know how to care for them. It does not make sense to me that he didn't know that you can't go 6 months without changing the water or doing a gravel vac:screwy:. Some members here do weekly water changes, some every two weeks, some monthly that is what maintenance should be. What about the filter how long has it been since he changed that out? The fish are swimming in a toilet bowl right now literally and he is ignorant and stupid to think his fish would live in such conditions:barf:. What are the levels ph, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate levels? I can only imagine when reading about the chinese algae eater and his condition. He needs to do small water changes daily until he gets the water to where it should be and then keep up the maintenance regularly. If you told him what he needs to do and he isn't doing it for the health of those fish then he is a moron. I am sorry but it is one thing to admit you didn't know and made a mistake but you told him what he needs to do and he is still ignorant? How long does he keep the lights on in the tank? Is it near a window if so he needs to move it or keep the blinds closed and limit the amount of time he keeps the lights on this could be the source of the algae problem. He shouldn't upgrade to a salt water reef if he can't even take care of a freshwater tank and I feel sorry for the fish that will suffer in that tank if he thinks maintenance is tough for a freshwater his fish will never survive in the saltwater one when he spends enough money replacing the fish he kills then maybe he will learn he should be ashamed of himself just pure stupidity and laziness on his part this is an example of someone who should not be a fishkeeper. :shakehead:
