hi i am new to this and i was just wondering if it would go with these tank mates?

29 gallon
3 danois
2 daffidil cichlids
1 blood parrot

Puffers are extremely territorial and need to be in a species only tank. They have no problems terrorizing fish much larger than them but that being said they are also very small. I would think a blood parrot would have no problems turning them into a snack if it wanted to.

Yeah, if you want puffers give them their own heavily planted tank and get a few.

thanks for the help

what other fish could i put in there then?

someone said dithers

also my parrot seems to be sick. some one said to give him a few days but any other suggestions or ideas would be nice. he is staying in a cave bearly moves out of there and doesnt really eat. i just got him yesterday so maybe that is why. but the daffidils are doing well. thanks

and would a Hammers Cobalt Blue Lobster (Procambarus sp.) do good or ghost shrimp?

My guess is most dither fish you put in there(tetras, danios, etc) will become snacks for the parrot sooner or later. Getting a puffer would be a waste of money, he would either get eaten by the parrot or nip at the parrots fins. Assuming you were getting a freshwater puffer that is......

If you get the lobster you cant get any other bottom feeders and he will grab at fish as they swim by so you will have some casualties. Ghost shrimp will most likely get eaten by the parrot as well. The parrot is probably hiding because he is not used to his new environment yet. Test your water if you think that may be a problem.
