is a puffer good with these fish?

its not over crowded.

the two daffodils need their territory, and so does the parrot, which also grows quite large. The tank is 29 gallons. Yes, it is overcrowded.

Of course noone is happy because your fish died, Im sure we are all sorry for your loss. I know I am. :(

If the power is back on, do you have an airstone or bubbler you can use to keep the water moving? Until you get your filter back up and running it will help some. Is it possible the filter just needed to be primed, after shutting off?

I'm sorry about your fish....have you been able to find out the reason why they died? Did you check ammonia with your test kit? The absence of power shouldn't necessarily kill hardy healthy fish if it wasn't for too long. I lost power for 14 days after Hurricane Wilma last year, and none of my fish died. I had 3 tanks at the time.

Ruben Tolon, how did you keep your tanks healthy during that? Im assuming you didnt have a generator or anything....any tips for the rest of us?

I didnt have a generator, but I guess I got lucky because my tanks were in decent shape, i had been keeping up with 25% water changes every week. Also I had some very hardy species: salvinis, rainbow cichlids, and blue acaras. Tough to kill. But still, I did feed very lightly when I didn't have power, and did massive water changes every few days.
