Is fish poop supposed to float?

What are the ingredients and guaranteed analysis of that Omega food?

If it's the singletail goldfish, oh boy, your fish must be very smart. They would not have problems with floating foods usually unlike the fancies but he sure knows his food.lmao

I dunno about that cheerios. If it has lots of grainy ingredients, probably not. I do think feeding vegetables such as kale, lettuce, peas, cucumber and many others will benefit the goldfish. Include aquarium plants in their diet as well. Egeria densa and duckweeds will be appreciated a lot.

It is a singletail, the one in my avatar, in fact. I can't tell if he's smart or picky. He's either ignoring it or doesn't know it's food. He'll swim right under it, sit there looking at it for a minute, and then swim away. It's why I stopped the bloodworms, they float. The omega is what he was being fed when I bought him, which is why I went with it.

There are some plants in there, but he doesn't seem to be eating them. There was a floating one my lfs recommended, but he just ripped it into shreds and didn't eat it. There were little pieces floating everywhere, what a pain to clean out, lol.

Maybe I should get some live feed? Guppies or something?

try a new food.

No feeder fish. How about the ingredient list? I've forgotten the acidophilus. This will help curb the gassy effect. Give gel foods a try and include acidophilus in it.

Went out and got new food today, ingredients and analysis as follows:

Min crude Protein: 25.9%
Min crude fat: 5.2%
Max crude fiber: 4.1%
Max moisture: 6.8%
Max crude ash 6.8%

Wheat gluten, wheat meal, fish meal, fish oils and vegetable oils, stinging nettles, lucerne (alfalfa), paprika, vitamins.

I also bought some duckweed (which came with a couple little shrimp) So I'll see if he likes that too.

The above was the ingredients in the new food. He hasn't eaten any of it yet.

The old food was Omega:
Whole salmon, whole herring, whole shrimp, wheat flour, wheat gluten, fresh kelp, lecithin, astaxanthin, L-Ascorbyl-2-Phosphate (Source of vitamin C), natural and artificial colors, vitamin A acetate, vitamin D3 supplement, vitamin E supplement, vitamin B12 supplement, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, folic acid, biotin, inositol, tocopherol (preservative), ethoxyquin (preservative).

Seems like the old food would be much healthier. o.O If the new food doesn't fix it I'll probably do a mixture of both for a while and see if that helps.

Also, just noticed there were a couple of baby fishies in the duckweed too, but they didn't make it. On the plus side, I've now counted 4 shrimp!

I will do my best, my lfs didn't know what it was so I'm looking online. =)

Did you try feeding frozen blood worms? Those do not float once you warm them up and drop in the tank.
The freeze dried has lots of air in them and are bad for fish, at least that is always what I was told. My fish hate anything freeze dried.
