My son has an apple snail in his tank. He's had him for about 4 months, 2 days ago we noticed he was floating on the top of the water. In the past he has done this but only for short periods of time, He shows no sign of life and we are concerned about him please can anyone shed some light on this.

Thanks Steve.

They are known to float at times. If you're worried that it has died, take it out of the water and smell it. If it stinks, it's dead. If the snail doesn't, it's fine.

Thanks for all the help, I'll pick him out and have a smell hopefully he's going to be fine.
Steve.

Ok i've hooked him out and had a sniff he does'nt smell but is still floating on the surface i guess only time will tell.
