Is it a bird..no, is it a plane..no...

Then what is this interresting organism growing on one of my LR's.
Basically it looks like a tube anemone, the "only" difference is that its about 3mm long has a hard white-worm-like body and the "anemone part" of it is red and withdraws every now and then. I unfortunately cant post a pic. can anyone help me identify this critter. Atleast we know its neither a bird nor a plane.. thanks guys!!!!!!!!

It looks exactly like a tubeworm eccept that the red part is featherish

or maybe a christmas tree worm
