so when you use the strips you match the colors to a chart that say 'perfect', 'good' 'not so good' and 'bad'??



well if you haven't added any fish or source for ammonia to the tank with the filter material from the od tank..chances are the bacteria may be dead.(btw the food may feed tha bacteria)

you can add fish to a tank with media from an estabished tank(in your case filter material from established tank to the new filter) and you should get an almost immediate cycle.

when you say foggy do you mean the new tank water??

pic up a ap master kit. i wouldnt use anything that just gave me colors and no real numbers to know whats going on in my tank.

on a side note isnt bumble bee goby brackish fish.

From what I have read the one's in the US are pretty much all brackish, the FW version is available I believe in the UK..

BBG's are brackish water by nature, and will definately prefer it. Their lifespan is considerably shorter in freshwater.

its not how you feel about them that bothers me. its how the feel. i am a strong believer in sw fish should be in sw tanks and fw in fw tanks and bw in bw tanks.
