guys is it okay to put one flowerhorn in 40g tank?? currently i have a 40g tank with stand and a power filter, the tank has no decorations except from the poster at the back of the tank.,,

Try this in the plant section, you should have more luck there:)

A 55 gallon is normally considered to be the minimum for a single large cichlid. BUT, considering the wide variation in flowerhorn genetics, with some adults reaching 16", perhaps a 75 gallon would be a better choice. If you want to choose a cichlid to keep in your 40 gallon, you'd be best off selecting one that doesn't exceed 9-10".

:thud: oops, I thought for sure that was a plant I had heard of!!! I'll stay out of this :)

Considering the size most flowerhorns attain, I'd go with no less than
a 75g (you want a footprint 18" wide, not 12"--too narrow for turning).
These guys need plenty of room. my 2 cents worth.

There are literally dozens of species of cichlids that would prosper in a 40g. My suggestion: Hold off on the "Frankenfish" untill you've experienced all the cichlids that mother nature has provided for us (should only take you two or three lifetimes :p: )
