is it possible to have no ammonia/nitrite/nitrate?

I am reading 0ppms of all three. Tanks been set up for 6 weeks now. Is my test kit wrong?

Did you cycle the tank? Are there fish in the tank?

Nope, not impossible, or even improbable. A heavily planted tank will easily consume all the nitrogen waste produced by fish. This is why heavily planted tanks are frequently supplemented with nitrate to feed the plants.

I believe that can happen when your plants are growing quickly and they suck up all the nitrates.

I believe one of the options is for you to add the macro nutrient KNO3 if that is the case and add it to keep your levels between 5ppm and 10ppm.

If not I believe it will stunt your plant growth and possibly lead to algae.

still slowly adding fish, but it is heavily planted. Yes I cycled it. Picking up some more fish for it tomorrow. Thanks.

sounds possible, i got mine tested yesterday, heavily planted, 10ppm ammonia no nitrite/nitrate. the lfs employee asked me if i even had any fish in my tank
