Even on water change day I never used my Python to clean the 10 gallon. I always had trouble getting it clean without draining all the water so I just went back to a small siphon and a bucket. I don't have the 10 anymore, but I do the same with my new 8 gallon.
Well, danggit!! I was hoping to make it easier. I think key to making it easier will be a change in substrate. What do you think would be good in my 10?
Just to note guys (sorry if its been said) you can in fact dose Prime to alleviate nitrite at x5 times regular dose, as per the instructions on the bottle but it states that this should be done in an emergency only.
I agree water changes where nitrite is present is absolutely the best way, and yes it would surely be possible to overdose on Prime outside of the parameters on the bottle.
