Hi this might sound a daft question but is it possible to remove the built in filter box from our 40 gallon tank.
The tank is up and running and has been for the last 5 months now.
The reason for wanting to remove it it is give a little more space in the tank.
The filter box is only used to house the heater and to run rowaphos which we could put in the external filter box along with the live rock rubble.
It is a chunky filter and i would like to remove it.

Thanks.
Liz.

well, it all depends on how its attached to the glass....if its held on by standard sealant, then you could cut it out by slicing a razor blade along the seams....cannot really give you a definitive answer and there are many contruction methods used in putting the tanks and filters together...

Thanks Niko for the quick reply.
The filter box is only held on with little dabs of black of silicon.
