I have had my 55 gallon up and running for a week, today i tested the water and my Nitrites are at 0 my nitrates are at 0. My test kit doesnt have ammonia tests. I have had 8 guppies in there for the last week and havent lost any. I did however put the filter from my cylced ten gallon in there for a while. Is my tank cylced and is it ok to add some more fish?

Thanks

You really need an ammonia test kit at this stage in the game. With no nitrites, and no nitrates in the first week of having fish, there's a good chance that you're only starting to cycle but cannot read the ammonia levels (b/c you've got no test for it).

If you put a seeded filter on the tank for a while, and then took it off, as it appears to be from your post, you removed your biological filtration with it. These bacteria take weeks to properly colonize a new tank. Essentially you provided filtration for the fish for a few days, but now you're back to square one.

I put the filter in there the very first day i set it up and took it out the second. I tested my water 5 days later and got those results. I know it takes awhile to cycle but i was just wondering if i had built up enough helpful bacteria to put a few more fish in.

Thanks
