I read somewhere that feeding saltwater fish, shrimp prawns ect
to your freshwater fish is is better than feeding them freshwater
alternatives, anyone any views on this? i would be interested to hear.

Also, if this were true? would the opposite be true when feeding
saltwater fish? just something that has been bugging me, lol
hope i didn't confuse you guys too much.

I don't know about SW fish being better for your fishes health than FW fish.
I feed my preds mostly SW fish (silversides, prawns, squids). SW fish are easier to get at the supermarket than FW fish

I read that it is generally accepted that fresh water fish are fed with salt water sourced foods, and salties with fresh water.

The reason - diseases, parasites etc are far less likely to cross from salt to fresh water or vice versa in the foods.

I WAS JUST LOOKING FOR VERIFACATION.
