Is it wrong that I want to see my angel hunt?

Is it wrong that part of me wants to witness my angel hunting another fish? I have him in a tank with black neon's, rummys and 2 regular neons (long story on those 2) and I occasionally see him spring out from behind some tall plants and either into delta wing position to chase a tetra, or just zoom after them.

While I know I would be sad to lose one of my tetra's, part of me would be interested to see him exhibiting his natural behavior.

Is this wrong? I would never want to unnaturally harm one of my fish, but for some reason I know I would think it a cool thing to witness. Thoughts? anyone feel the same?

its not wrong to see a predator hunt, a few members here keep guppies or mosquitofish with their angels so they can feed off the fry

nothing wrong with letting them hunt..they will learn to ambush their prey...lol

the only wrong here, is how much it cost for neons..kind of spendy to see them go down as a food source.

;)

I use to raise guppies for that reason.

I keep guppies in my angels' tank, I feel it is much more natural for them.... And the guppys add color and activity, too.

I use to raise guppies for that reason.

The 2 neon's in there were survivors from my 10G Betta tank, there were originally 6 of them. They kept completely disappearing until one day I discovered one with an eye missing and saw the Betta attacking them. So I decided instead of having them tortured to death by the Betta, to move them into my 55G. Logic being that the angel would have made a quicker meal of them than the Betta, but he has completely ignored the 2 of them, and they are now much larger and brightly colored.

I would try raising guppies or some other livebearer in the 10G with the Betta, but I am pretty sure he is destined to live alone! I also don't think my wife would appreciate me feeding the fry to the angel.

shrimp are another great option as angels adore predating them as well, cherries or ghost shrimp

I also had some ghost shrimp in with the previously mentioned Betta, they are also now no more!! LOL! At least they were only ghost shrimp and about 10c each!

Maybe next time I am out I will pick up a few ghost shrimp and put in there for him (and my other angels) as a treat.

Heck no! That's one of the main reasons predator fish are so popular. I love watching my F8 puffer stalk his snails. My angel (had it less than a month) is so cool. He seems to be one of my more intelligent fish as he obviously sees pellets, flakes, etc., go into the tank but waits until they drop through the web of floater roots so that he doesn't have to put out much effort, lol. I can practically see him thinking. I call it a him, but I have no idea what sex it is. I seem to call most fish hims unless I know they are female. Not sure why...
