BACKGROUND: I have a 75g set up and cycled fish added about six weeks ago. I have a pair of cobalt cichlids about 3 and 1/2 inches long, one is a little smaller, is darker in color and has no or very diminuitive egg spots. The larger one has very prominent egg spots is brighter. Yesterday I noticed that the smaller one isnt taking food. Infact, it aproaches food but doesn't eat it. All tank maintenance is up to date and parameters are fine. It also doesn't open its mouth at all or hardly when it breaths. it is less active and likes to hide alot right now more than its normal activity. I've had these two fish for about 4 months or so. So is it carrying eggs? If so what to do?

You will be able to see the eggs in her mouth. Also it will look like she chewing gum. It sounds like she may be holding. Can you provide a pic?

sorry dont have the equip to take and scan in a pic but she hardly opens her mouth so I havent been able to see in (really strange). Should I quarantine her? Do I even have the pair sexed right?
