Is my coral sick or molting

The base is about 1/2 inch thick on this guy. I got some stuff today called reef builder it raises pH and alk slowly supossedly. Long term I want lots of coral's like zoos, frogspawn, open brain, shrooms, sun coral, maybe a hammerhead leather, and a cobalt coral. I don't want it to be to crowded but i want lots of busy ness going on hehe. As far as fish and such i want a 6 line wrase, Royal gramma, and a cleaner shrimp. I am gona have to reposition the rock though i made it a wall and well, a rock wall isn't very friendly in the positioning of corals. Ultimatly i have my eye on a 120 gal aquarium i have the MH lights already just waiting till i can get enough cash together for 180lbs of live rock and the wife to say i can get it :D I have a 55 gallon for a sump already it has my daughters guppys and my amazon sword i have had for 5 years here is a pic of my whole tank Oh can you see the leather, head has completly coverd in that stuff the base is still brite yellow though

Sounds like a good plan don't worry about the softies crowding too much. They are so easy to frag and trade. Be carefull about that f.w. tank as a sump if you've ever used any copper based meds for ich etc. it will kill your reef in about 10 seconds ,"slight exageragtion". I've never heard of the product you've bought so I can't help you there.
Oh, when ever you add a new softie make sure none of the water from the transport bag gets into your tank also run activated charcoal in your filter for a week or so after. They are into some bio chemical warfair ,"they apparently didn't sign the Geneva Convention", and can really adversly affect the health of your set up.
As to the larger tank don't buy that much l.r.! Most of it you won't be able to see anyway. I'd get coral rubble and use it as a base it'll turn into live rock soon enough anyway 50% l.r.and 50% dry coral will work or you can use less l.r. if you want. Just don't stock the tank so fast.

** When you make your, "wall" more open use supper glue and plastic ties like they use for electric work,"with out metal centers" to hold everything in place. Don't worry about the plastic being an eyesore forever either hide as much as you can and your coraline will do the rest.
