Is my female pineapple swordtail pregnant?

Woops! must missed 3PPM but still nothing to be alarmed about if pH near neutral or lower. Check the pH first before tempting possibly unnecessary wc.

DOnt know if NH3 is still present and if pH is higher than 7.4, should perform small but frequent water changes.

Hard to imagine normal tank that has fish for 7 weeks registers any NH3 at this time. At such time one should usually see end of second phase of nitrification if not already completed. UNLESS added decent amt of fish recently other than barb.

Anyway, do complete set of tests, use liquid test kits when possible, before determining any actions.

Maybe I'll get a liquid kit today, I don't want to take any chances. I just got the papers trips because they seemed faster/easier and I wasn't worried about the slightly higher cost per test. The odd thing, is you would think they would appear stressed, but they all seem to be having a grand 'ol time. Regarding my female Xtail, after awakening today she is out and about and acting very normal and VERY visibly thinner. She was pretty plump the last few weeks and I tend to wonder if I bought her pregnant. I wonder if she was hiding to find a dark quiet place to give birth. Odd thing is I don't see any fry, maybe got eaten already? My pH is 7.4-7.6 so definitely not good if my ammonia is indeed that high. I will get a liquid kit today and do a larger water change if still high. BTW, if I am removing water below the filter siphon tube, I assume I need to unplug the filter so it's not sucking in air right?

The hovering at the surface is a sign of stress, ammonia poisoning destroys the gills and their internal structure.

No need to unplug during wc but I would only do small one but more often than one massiv one unless reading indicates such action.

As far as hovering on top, dont assume it to be sign of stress/sickness as not all the fish are showing same/similar symptoms. Should monitor water and control its stability and pay closer attention,
