On species profile it says they are Herbivorous but some people have said he will eat them.. he is about 3 1/2 inches long.. I just have him and 2 neon tetras in my 40 gallon tank. What do you guys think?

Also what fish would do well with the silver dollar in my 40 gallon?

big fish no matter if they are herbiverous may eat anything that fits in there mouth that could be there young or any other smaller fish. There are noteable exceptions.

I've never had silver dollars but 2 of my cardinal tetras went missing a couple of weeks ago - I assume they were eaten and the only fish big enough in my tank are bala sharks.

I would try it and see - tetras are quick and can normally get out of the way.

thats cool.. i will not be to upset if a tetra gets eaten.. they seem alot fast then him so he would have to sneak up on them to get eaten i am sure...

So what would be some good fish that don't get to big to put in there?

My gf in college had a 25 gallon tank in her dorm.. we get her a bala shark and about 10 tetras.. about every 2 weeks a tetra would go missing until they were all gone..

for starters, get more neons.. i'm pretty sure neons are schooling fish.. so you'll want at least 6 of them.
