Is my tank ready?

Unfortunatly we do not all have the benefit of expert knowledge and have to rely on knowledge given by people who you would hope know what they are doing. Bacterlife says it inhibits new tank syndrome and activates filters and increases bacteria life. I thought it had ammonia in it but it appears that i am mistaken. Will reseach bio spira but even after reading still feel none the wiser.
That's why I linked in the cycling article.

What is it about Bio Spira that confuses you?

Roan art what i really meant was that when you go to a fish shop you hope that the products they give you will do the job. I have a fish superstore near to me and they gave me the bacterlife to help cycle the tank. Since i set it up I have occassionally added flakes and have put in some water from my other tanks. I also hope that by adding plants. I have ordered many more online which will come this week it will further help culviate the bacteria the tank needs.
As for Bio spira, some people say its brilliant but others say dont bother with it so it is difficult to know which to go with.

In years gone by I have not had access to the internet and never even heard of tank cycling. I acted only on what the lfs told me. I used to just put in the aquasafe plus some old water, leave it for 4-5 days then add fish to middling stocking levels then added more later. I occassional got the odd one that died but on the whole i did very well with many fish reaching their predicted life spans before dieing. I think i put this down to regular cleaning, keeping an eye on the ph and water changing rather than dumb luck.

Rockabilly chick thankyou for that. I do understand that well enough. :) Alas I live in the UK and do not have a walmart here. So if anyone else knows where to get ammonia in the uk I would appreciate knowing.

Thanks all.
