is regular household salt dangerous to invertebrates?

hi there i was wondering if household salt, treatment for FW ich is not dangerous to cherry shrimps and ghost shrimps?

it did not harm mine. I used morton salt. all my cherries came out of it well

i have a 10g tank, and i was suppose to add 2 tablespoons or 20teaspoons to my tank. while i was measuring the amount, it seemed A LOT to me.. can anybody verify that this number is correct?

20 tsps is correct for the total volume of the tank (2 tsp/gal). Mix the salt in a seperate container of tank water and add it gradually so you don't shock the tank inhabitants.

when i do this process to cure the ich, do i have to turn off my filter?

nope, leave it on. The aeration is important. What is in the tank with the shrimp? Are you raising the temp as well?

i recently took out my three rasboaras, and one clown pleco. so now its only grouped with endlers, about seven of them now. i think my other two endlers were eatened by the clwon or raboras so i took them out. the endlers are half frys and juvis. if anybody wants my clown pleco or 2 harlequin rasboras PM!. local pickup San Jose only


ohh and as terms of the temp. i dont know whether i should do it or not. increase to 86 degrees is it? i have a heater so i could do it.

its all good 2 tsp per gallon, raise your temp gradualy to about 84 and as said be 4 gradualy add the mixed salt water. yes leave the filter on.
