Is Rena Filstar XP3 enough???

as its been explained to me, canister filters are so efficient in their biological filtration, that they only need to cirulate the water 2-3 times per hour.

both my filters combined are rated at around 330 gph and thats on a 29 gallon...

so thats around 11 times per hour...

if im correct...which i think i am

I would just keep an eye on your water quality if you start to have problems with ammonia spikes or high nitrites or if you have a lot of stuff floating in the tank then obviously you would need another filter if your water quality stays stable and the water is clear then your all set.

a large tank like that should have a powerhead to go along with the filter or another filter to prevent 'dead spots' ...

I use a 404 fluval and a hagen 70 powerhead to filter my 80 gallon and it's doing a good job so far.
